Do you have the perfect pattern but you don’t know where to start or you’re having a problem and just don’t know how to correct it?

If you need a little guidance on technique, colors, cut, style, or shading or  want to try your hand at designing your own pattern, I can help. These challenges don’t have to be overwhelming.

Let me help you solve your rug hooking problems and give you the tools you need to solve future ones.

Hello!

My name is Stacey Van Dyne and I am a McGown certified instructor. I have been hooking rugs since 1974 and love nothing more than sharing my knowledge and love of rug hooking with others.

I have worked in collaboration with Verna Cox for her articles in Rug Hooking Magazine. I have hooked 2 rugs for Jamie Wyeth that were based on his paintings, which was challenging and lots of fun.

I am a past President of the Northern McGown Teacher’s Workshop and President of the National Guild of Pearl K. McGown Rug Hookrafters.

I want to help you…

My goal is to help you see rug hooking in a new way, bring out your hidden talents, guide you in finding your own unique style and to make sure you enjoy every step of the journey. Rug hooking should be fun!

I hold classes from September through May for all skill levels and styles. If you are interested in joining us or want more information, click here.

Each year I hold a 2 day event and bring experienced teachers to my area to run 1-day workshops followed by a hook-in. More information on this event can be found here.

More about me:

I was exposed to many different handicrafts and art forms at a very young age. After discovering rug hooking at the age of 16, I decided that rug hooking satisfied every artistic need I had and gave up everything else. Designing, color planning, dyeing, and watching a beautiful rug come to life became all-consuming and I was “hooked”.

The name Hooked Forever seemed a natural and fitting name for my company, which I started in 1993 so I could teach & sell the necessary supplies. Teaching had always been a dream of mine and being able to teach something I love to do and encouraging others to discover their true potential fills me with joy.

Changing a pattern sometimes requires extra help.

I started on the exciting journey to become a McGown certified instructor in 2002 and have taught many years at Northern McGown Teacher’s Workshop. I have also sponsored 3 of my students to NMTW so that they can become certified themselves and spread the word.

I speak before groups and participate in fiber arts demonstrations and exhibits. I began hosting a big party (hook-in) in 2015 to celebrate rug hooking with friends, old & new. I always welcome new thoughts & ideas because that’s how we grow & improve in all aspects of our lives.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or ideas you have. I would love to hear from you!
